“Trailnet’s Safe Routes to School program helps children perform better in school, improve their social interactions with other children and their parents, promote their sense of community belonging, and best of all – it’s just plain FUN!”
Paula Shelden
Physical Education Teacher at Hudson Elementary
Trailnet has actively promoted bicycling and walking for
transportation since our founding, with early efforts sponsored by the
Missouri Department of Transportation. These transportation alternatives are an important part of Active Living, resulting in improved air quality, decreased roadway congestion and more opportunities for active routine travel. Initiatives include promotion of National Bike Month in May and Safe Routes to School, a volunteer-driven program designed to resurrect walking and biking to school as a readily accessible exercise program for youth.
