Established in 1956 by the League of American Bicyclists, May is National Bike Month. Celebrated across the U.S. and Canada, this is the perfect time to enjoy great weather and the many benefits of bicycling.
The highlight of Bike Month is National Bike to Work Day, Friday, May 19. Pedal to work and encourage friends and co-workers to give biking a try. Trailnet staff and volunteers count all riders that day – come by a refueling station and be counted – help us top 500 again this year!
Refueling stations will be open from 6:30 – 9:00 a.m. and will provide free coffee and baked goods to all cyclists. In addition to the Trailnet-sponsored stations at the Missouri History Museum, Kaldi’s on DeMun, Kaldi’s on Vandeventer, and Missouri Botanical Garden, area businesses will be offering refueling stops. Click here to see a map of station locations – more stations will be added as the big day gets closer.
Want to host a refueling stop at your place of work? We welcome area businesses and organizations to join in the fun by helping to fuel cyclists on their route to work. Click here to get the details on hosting a station. To participate, please submit this form by May 5.
