Due to the current state of COVID-19 and the Stay At Home orders in our region, we have canceled our 2020 Route 66 Ride in Edwardsville, Illinois scheduled for June 13th.

Unfortunately, there is currently not enough information about the future of this crisis for us to confidently host an event in June. Our priority is – and always will be – the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and host communities.

We are weighing options to reschedule this ride but have nothing set at this time. Looking forward, the rest of the Trailnet Classics are set to continue as scheduled, but we will continue to monitor the situation and keep everyone posted as things develop.

We have contacted people who already signed up to give them registration options.

This is a very uncertain time, and while we hope to host as many of the 2020 Trailnet Classics as we can, we will continue to prioritize public health needs.

Due to the cancelations of many of our in-person events, we have created some fun alternatives. Starting in May we will be doing bi-weekly Zwift group rides as well as encouragement activities like app-based scavenger hunts that allow you to explore our community in a unique way while getting essential exercise and maintaining social distance. https://trailnet.org/calendar/

These rides are important to us, our riders, and are part of our work to get more people biking in our region. Because of the support of riders like you, these rides have also grown to be a vital source of funding for our educational, planning and advocacy programs.

In conjunction with the 23rd Annual Edwardsville Route 66 Festival, this ride follows along the historic “Mother Road.” When not on old Route 66 the ride travels on quiet backroads and portions of the Madison County Trails. After the ride enjoy the Route 66 festival featuring a classic car show.

Day-of Registration and Check-In: 6:30 to 8:30 AM

Group Starts: 7:30 or 8:30 AM

Mileage: 9, 30, 42 or 60   |   Terrain: Flat to rolling, no big hills. Paved.

**New for 2020 – Registration will open at 6:30 AM and closes at 8:30 AM. We will have two group starts. Riders can choose to depart in either a 7:30 or 8:30 AM group start.

At both starts we will encourage riders to be mindful of their own ability and comfort level when positioning themselves in the staging area. Group start etiquette and safety will also be covered in the rider briefing.

We may make additional changes based on potential severe weather conditions, with appropriate notification time before the rides. This allows our team to control traffic and escort all riders safely from the starting point.**
