Every month, we highlight one or more community members who are helping advance Trailnet’s vision of Streets for All. For November, we’re delighted to feature multiple community champions — Tom and Sally Cohn, Better Bevo Now, and Dutchtown Main Streets. These Trailnet Champions will be recognized at this year’s Paving the Way soiree as our 2026 MAP Award Honorees: Outstanding Members, Advocates, and Partners.
Outstanding Trailnet Members: Tom & Sally Cohn
This award honors an outstanding Trailnet Member who has demonstrated a commitment to fighting for Streets for All. Longtime Trailnet supporters Tom and Sally Cohn took their commitment to safer streets to a new level this year with a transformational gift: a 3,435-square-foot downtown office condo that is now Trailnet’s permanent headquarters. Their donation gives our growing team room to thrive, provides lasting financial stability, and lays a foundation for generations of work ahead. Tom and Sally are more than just long-time members; they are founding supporters of Trailnet’s Peloton Society. They helped launch the organization’s leadership giving program, setting a standard of generosity that inspires others to join the fight for safe streets.
Outstanding Streets for All Advocate: Better Bevo Now
This award honors an individual, family, or organization that has fought for policies that make our region better for people walking, biking, or using public transportation. The honoree, Better Bevo Now, has advocated passionately for safety improvements on Delor, Gravois, and most recently Morgan Ford Road, resulting in safer streets for all users.
The resolution Better Bevo Now passed this year urges local leaders to study the corridor from end to end and to make sure upcoming repaving projects on Morgan Ford, Gravois, and Chippewa include safety improvements for everyone. Trailnet is proud to honor Better Bevo Now. They have been a key community partner on Trailnet’s Oak Hill Elementary Safe Routes to School project, helping identify local priorities and engage families. Their work shows what resident-led advocacy can accomplish.
Outstanding Streets for All Partner: Dutchtown Main Streets
This award honors an individual, family, or organization that has worked hand-in-hand with Trailnet and other community members to fight for Streets for All.
This summer, thanks to the leadership of Dutchtown Main Streets, residents and visitors to Marquette Park got to experience an Open Streets pilot program at Marquette Plaza, with the street closure of Compton Avenue. Park visitors moved freely while crossing Compton Avenue without the concern of traffic, safely accessing the other side of Marquette Park and enjoying all the space and amenities of the park. The pilot will inform future decisions about infrastructure and traffic routing in and around the park.
Trailnet is grateful to Dutchtown Main Streets for their partnership and their vision for a more connected Dutchtown.
