Generous donation from Thomas and Sally Cohn provides expanded office space, long-term stability, and room for growth
Trailnet has secured a permanent home in downtown St. Louis thanks to a generous donation of an office condo from Thomas and Sally Cohn. The 3,435-square-foot office condominium at 1115 Locust St., Unit 300, will provide the nonprofit with expanded, upgraded workspace for its growing team while strengthening the organization’s long-term financial stability.
For more than 35 years, Trailnet has worked alongside residents, community partners, and public agencies to improve walking, biking, and transit throughout the St. Louis region, and had been renting office space nearby at 317 N. 11th St. for several years. Ownership of its new office space marks a major milestone for the organization, establishing a permanent headquarters and reaffirming its long-term commitment to the City of St. Louis and the region it serves.
Thomas and Sally Cohn have long supported Trailnet’s mission through their philanthropy and civic leadership. As founding supporters of Trailnet’s Peloton Society, the organization’s leadership giving program, they have helped advance efforts to create healthier, more connected communities throughout the St. Louis region. Beyond Trailnet, Sally Cohn helped establish Fairground Park For All and has dedicated decades to environmental stewardship and community service. Thomas Cohn has served on the boards of several St. Louis nonprofit organizations, reflecting the couple’s longstanding commitment to supporting organizations that improve health, education, civic life, and the quality of life throughout the region.
The donated office condominium, formerly home to Cohn & Associates and located inside the historic Spool Thread building, will provide room for Trailnet’s growing staff and operations while giving the organization the long-term stability and benefits of a permanent home. As a property owner, Trailnet will be better positioned to direct resources toward programs, advocacy, education, and community engagement that improve quality of life throughout the region.
“Trailnet has spent decades helping make the St. Louis region a healthier, safer, and more connected place,” said Thomas Cohn. “We wanted to help ensure the organization has the stability and resources it needs to continue that work for generations to come. I’m very proud of the space and I’m thrilled to know it will be put to good use.”

The new downtown St. Louis headquarters reflect Trailnet’s continued investment in the City and places the organization in a central location from which it can collaborate with partners, policymakers, and community members. Trailnet began operating from its new location on June 29.
Trailnet plans to host an open house in September to welcome supporters, partners, and community members into its new home and celebrate this exciting new chapter in the organization’s history.
