2021 Bike Education Classes!

Trailnet 2021 Bicycle Education Class Offerings!

Wednesday Sept. 22 5:30-7:30PM, Bicycling 103 – Come learn with the experts about proper etiquette while riding in a group. Additionally, you will learn in depth details about how to maximize shifting for climbing and descending, tips about how to prepare and train for long distance riding and annual maintenance to keep your rides rolling as planned.

Saturday Sept. 25 9:00AM-5:00PM, Adult Learn to Ride – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to learn to ride a bike? Or maybe it’s been a long time since you were on two wheels and need to polish up on some of the basics. This judgment-free class will be the perfect opportunity for you. Plan to leave class with an exciting new skill and hobby to get you outdoors.

Tuesday October 5th 5:30-7:30PM, Bicycling 101 – Come learn with the experts about how to ride in and prepare for biking in poor weather and conditions, including: nighttime riding, riding in the rain, hot weather, and freezing temperatures. We’ll also talk about, and practice, some basic mechanical adjustments you may encounter while out on a ride such as tightening your brakes, basic shifting adjustments, fixing a flat, and other bits and bobs that often work loose and need to be periodically checked.

Saturday October 16th 9:00AM-1:00PM, Bicycling 102 + On the Bike Practice! – Come learn with the experts about how to bike safely on the roads and get to and from your destinations while riding a bike. You will learn about basics on lane positioning to make yourself visible, certain rules of the road, tips for how to commute or carry items on your bike, information on how to bring your bike on to public transportation, and common rules for locking your bike once you are at your destination. Plus practice on the bike with our experts!

Tuesday October 26th 5:30-7:30PM, Bicycling 103 Winter Edition – Come learn with the experts about proper etiquette while riding in a group. Additionally, you will learn in depth details about how to maximize shifting for climbing and descending, tips about how to prepare and train for long distance riding and annual maintenance to keep your rides rolling as planned. This class will have an extra focus on winter maintenance to get you ready for the season.

Tuesday December 7th (snow date Dec. 16th) 5:30-7:30PM,All About Winter Riding – Come learn with the experts all about winter riding. This class will cover winter clothing suggestions, bike maintenance, riding conditions and how to choose the proper gear and routes for those snowy days.
