Donate Your Car

Gifts of Stock
Trailnet accepts gifts of publicly traded securities. By gifting the stock to Trailnet (rather than selling it and donating the proceeds), you receive the federal and state charitable deductions and avoid paying capital gains tax. Matching Gifts
Many employers offer matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. If your employer has such a program, the impact of your gift to Trailnet may be doubled and your membership level and benefits can be upgraded. Check with your Human Resources Department to see if your company has a matching gift policy and follow the procedures for designating Trailnet as the matching gift recipient.
United Way Campaigns
Some employers allow United Way contributions to be directed to Trailnet. You can use these campaigns as a method to pay for Trailnet membership Check with your Human Resources Department to see if this option is available to you.
Gifts of Property
The Executive Committee of the Trailnet Board of Directors will consider non-cash gifts of real estate or other property on a case-by-case basis. Trailnet maintains Gift Acceptance Guidelines to assist with decisions to accept and place a value upon all non-cash charitable donations.
Planned Gifts
Planned giving, simply defined, is any technique that includes charitable giving in your total financial plan. It is an excellent way to extend your generous support of Trailnet and have meaningful, ongoing impact on the vital work around the region. In working with donors and their financial advisors to plan major gifts, Trailnet’s Board of Directors is guided by Trailnet’s Gift Acceptance Guidelines. Trailnet gratefully accepts the following planned gift vehicles at this time:
- Beneficiary designation: You may transfer assets to Trailnet by naming Trailnet as a beneficiary in your will, your life insurance policy or your retirement or pension plan.
- Charitable remainder trust : You may place assets in a tax-exempt trust that provides payments to you for your lifetime or for a specified number of years. At the end of the defined time period, the remainder of the assets will be transferred to Trailnet.
